Project Rally
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
A flash incremental game with city-building flavor, where you move a character around a small neighborhood, establish buildings and do other activities.
The project is still in pre Alpha prototype stage, where all the main gameplay features are still in active development (especially the victory condition). The project is public on itch.io to encourage accountability and hopefully to do some early testing on controls and game mechanics.
Rally version 0.015 update for linux build is available for play and download now. To properly play this build, download the file "rally_v0p015_linux.x86_64" and double-click on the executable to launch the game. Windows build (unverified) is also available to download "rally_v0p015_windows.zip"
Web version is also available but the game is very laggy to make it enjoyable. If you cannot download either the linux or the windows build, go to the following link for the browser build: https://rally-7djw.vercel.app/
Currently only available on Linux machine. Windows build will be available as time goes on.
Updates for v0.015:
- Added small tutorial at the start
- Added goal board
- Updated Ratings system with now added currency. This rating currency can be used to establish buildings and other stuff (not implemented)
- Added residence register interaction for Town Hall to increase population manually by exchanging with rating currency
- Bug fixes
Planned feature for the next milestone v0.02:
- Overhaul the current victory condition. Implement campaign day where you gather residence and destroy BigRealty HQ to drive them out from the neighborhood.
- More specific building interactions.
How to Play
It uses point-and-click control to choose an object/place where your character is going. After moving close to the object/place, click on the object/place again to display the available activities. Empty lots have "establish", Utility posts have "Activate", etc.
Utility Post
Like city-building games, you must activate the zoning before you can build buildings.

First, walk to an un-activated utility post (a road with an electric sign) and activate it. Beware that you need to pay some money to do so.
After that, empty lots will be available to be built upon.

Zoning Types
Green Tile | Residential |
Blue Tile | Commercial |
Yellow Tile | Facility |
Pink Tile | Logistic |
Move your character near an empty lot, and then click on it again to enable the "Establish" interaction option. You will see another menu to choose which building to establish.

Ratings
Building commercials, facilities, and transport buildings to attract potential residence. There is rating and demand meter for population as shown in the top-right of the game UI.
As you build different facilities, each rating will go up and thus population demand will also grow. When there is some population demand, build some residentials so they can move in!
Energy
Energy is expended as you move about and do interactions. When it's out, you will not be able to execute any interactions (with some exceptions that build back energy) and your movement will be sluggish!

Go back to your room and rest to replenish.

Gates
There are several gates scattered around the neighborhood which prevent you from using the road.

So, go to these outposts and use your rally-points to rally it and gain passage!
Competition
You will be playing against BigRealty to gain the residence's support. BigRealty will dispatch their agents (purple car as shown below) to build residentials or rally support for their own gain.

Your goal is to rally enough support (in the following screenshot on the left) by voting day to drive out BigRealty from your neighborhood and win the game!
